One sick, two can't go

We were saddened yesterday to receive news that our two travelers from South Carolina are not going to be able to go with us. In spite of efforts of doctors and medication over the last week, what was thought to be a cold turned into pneumonia for one of our travelers. The doctor said no go. So the mother/daughter team will have to stay home.

Fortuanately for them, they were wise enough to take out travel insurance which is designed for situations just like this.

This is the day we depart, though. We are all excited with anticipation for what we are about to experience. Traveling overseas is never fun but you can endure cramped seats and restricted movement for 10+ hours knowing where and to what you are headed.

We may not be about to post anything until we get settled in Bethlehem on Wednesday evening (if we can find a wifi hotspot there).

I;m Caroline Roddey, age 9, and my father is in Israel, and I'm excited about him being there. It must be fun out there and right now I wish I was there with the group, traveling and exploring what used to be where Jesus walked, stood, and lived for a while. If you're reading this, Dad, hello!!!

Susan Roddey here: Sounds like things are going well and seeing the full moon over Jerusalem must have been incredible. Look forward to hearing more!
