Mar Elias Educational Institutions

Our next day took us north and west of Bethlehem into Galilee to the town of Ibillin and Mar Elias Educational Institute, the only non-Jewish college in Israel, Here Bishop Chacour’s vision for peace between races and religions has resulted in a school where Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Druise study and work together — proving that peace is possible if it, and not violence, is the formational environment for young men and women.

The eight beatitudes are inscribed in multiple languages on the steps leading to the Sanctuary.
